Abs??? We don’t need no stinking abs!!!!
Does anyone else think of Rosa from Troop Beverly Hills saying, “Patches??? We don’t need no stinking patches!”? I can’t be the only one! Although, maybe I am because I can’t find a good picture of Rosa or a gif of this line anywhere. So instead…cookie time!
Ok, ok, ok. Enough about cookies. Although, depending how many cookies you eat could explain your abs…or lack thereof.
Focus, people. Focus.
Since my emergency c-secion, my lack of abs and abundance of tummy is all too present. Makes me wish for the days of my flat tummy. I wish I had appreciated it a bit more. I guess it’s true–you don’t know a good thing till it’s gone. I am looking at pictures where I’m 6-9 weeks preggo and wishing for that tummy back and at the time I thought I was already so huge. Ha! Fool!
It’s ok though. The tummy (or lack of a tummy) is gonna come back. Not as quickly as I may have thought, but it will tighten up and get back to normal. Right?!?! Yes. It has to! It will. Power of positive thinking!
I have two more weeks of no exercising and then we’ll see what the doc has to say. I have been feeling much better and I’ve started trying to tighten up my core a bit. No full situps though. Don’t worry, Mom!!!
I know that many of you have not just had a baby, but I think these toning exercises are pretty good for anyone. Sometimes we forget to really engage that core of ours! I found these tummy toners on Pinterest and have been trying to do a couple of them every day. They are all pretty easy and a lot can be done anywhere and pretty discretely. So if you are at your desk at work right now, you can definitely do the first two and no one will be the wiser.

Even though I can’t really work out, just doing these exercises is making me feel better about my “mummy tummy”. These are great for anyone trying to target that lower belly pooch. Although, you can’t spot treat, so if you’ve got some excess bulge to lose, you’ve gotta throw cardio in there too!
So, that is my abtastic PSA for today. Let’s tighten up people! Spring is here and that means Summer is around the corner. Ugh, the mention of Summer brings images of brightly colored bikinis to mind. A barftastic image at this moment. Pretty sure this is going to be a “no-bikini” summer for this lady! Maybe it’s a good thing I no longer live near the beach. Power of positive thinking?!?!
